Top Ten Places to Visit in Paris: Travel Guide.

Off to the City of Love this summer? Plan your itinerary with Voyafly's travel guide.

The Brussels Times found that 44 million people visited Paris in 2022. Though staggering, that number is a testament to the city's timeless light and beauty. Nowhere else in Europe offers so much art, music, architecture and history than the City of Love, and even its shyest neighborhoods house sparkling cultural secrets.

It's easy to lose yourself in the city's meandering streets. But if you're off to Paris this year, there are certain sights that you simply cannot miss. Today, we share  Voyafly's Travel Guide to Paris.

As well as legendary landmarks, we'll tip you off to some of the city's best kept secrets.

Eiffel Tower:

No first-time trip to Paris is complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower. Since its completion in 1889, this iconic landmark has become one of the most famous and beloved sights. It is, quite simply, a wonder of the world. You can also stop for some repas at the tower's restaurants or stroll in the surrounding Champ de Mars park.

Not so good with heights? N'inquietez-pas!  Take your pick of City Bus Tours which all pass directly underneath the celebrated sight.

Musée Marmottan Monet:

Here is a must-see for any Art enthusiast. The Musee Marmottan Monet houses Monet's distinguished Water Lilies series. The museum is less crowded than the city's other art exhibitions so you can drink in Monet's genius in peace. Find it on the 16th arrondissment, or visit their website for more information.

Louvre Museum:

Ever seen Mona Lisa? Rest assured, she's even more beautiful in real life. You can catch Mona, Venus De Milo, and hundreds more acclaimed pieces of art at the Louvre Museum of Art.

Promenade Plantée:

Fancy a secret garden? The "planted promenade," also known as the Coulée Verte René-Dumont, is a rustling, leafy gem on the 12th arrondissement. When the structure fell out of use as a railway viaduct, the bridge was planted with lush greenery and now features beautiful gardens with stunning city views. Enjoy a walk, or bike ride, along the elevated pathway. This spot provides a brilliant backdrop for your holiday pictures.

Notre-Dame Cathedral:

Notre-Dame Cathedral remains a symbol of Paris. While reconstruction efforts continue after the 2019 fire, parts of the cathedral are open to the public so don't miss the chance to see the cathedral's iconic Gothic architecture (complete with Gargoyles!)

Musée de la Vie Romantique:

You hardly need to search for romance in The City of Love. But if you fancy a break from the crowds and traffic, take a trip to the 9th arrondissement, where you will find the Musee de la Vie Romantique. Housed in a charming 19th-century mansion and garden, this serene escape features works by Delacroix and George Sand.

Montmartre:

What do Matisse, Erik Satie, Sarah Bernhardt and Miss Tic have in common? They are just a few of the literary, artistic and political revolutionaries for which Montmartre is famous. Montmartre's impact on art and culture cannot be overstated. This historic neighborhood has been an intellectual and creative melting pot since at least the 17th century. Highlights include the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, the bustling Place du Tertre and the Moulin RougeIt's a creative paradise.

Canal Saint-Martin:

Cool off from Montmartre's fevered creativity with a stroll along Saint Martin's Canal to enjoy its tree-lined banks, footbridges, and quaint cafés. It's a great spot to enjoy a leisurely boat ride, explore quirky shops, or simply relax by the water. It also leads directly through the Bohemia of the 10th and 11th arrondissements.

Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe:

The Champs-Élysées is one of the most famous avenues in the world, lined with shops, cafes, and theaters. You can find the  majestic Arc de Triomphe (a symbol of French national pride and a monument to the fallen soldiers of France) at the avenue's western end.

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont:

The Parc des Buttes-Chaumont features a man-made lake, cliffs, waterfalls, and a picturesque temple perched atop a hill. It's perfect for a leisurely stroll or a peaceful picnic away from the hustle and bustle of the city center for you and your Amore.
